Job Creation: STEP Graduands In Welding, Electrical, Undergo EBMT ~ Truth Reporters

Graduands of the Delta State Government’s Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) trained in Welding and Fabrication, and Electrical and Solar Works have been charged to put into practice all the knowledge acquired during training in order to because great entrepreneurs.

The Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer of the Delta State Job and Wealth Creation Bureau, Prof Eric Eboh, gave the charge during the Entrepreneurship and Business Management Training (EBMT) organized for the beneficiaries by the bureau in Asaba.

The beneficiaries trained for eight months in the skills in different training centers across the state were enrolled in the STEP programme in the 2020/2021 Cycle.

Addressing the graduands, Prof Eboh said the EBMT is the last part of the STEP training programme after the beneficiaries have passed through other activities such as the screening /selection process, orientation and personal effectiveness training, vocational skills training and completion proficiency Test.





Earlier, the Programme Coordinator, STEP, Mr. Onyeisi Nkenchor congratulated the graduands for the successful completion of the various training activities in the programme. He urged them to find a shop, set -up and register their businesses immediately after the EBMT and establishment with starter packs.

Also, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Monitoring and Mentoring (DYMM), Mr. Edward Mekwunye, advised them to make good use of the opportunity given to them by the State Government to become great entrepreneurs and business owners.
He assured them that the DYMM would always visit them in their different business locations to verify their business status and to mentor them.

Responding on behalf of the graduands, Odili Cyril who hails from Ndokwa West Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to the State Government for the opportunity given to him to be enrolled in STEP and to learn a skill, pledging to use knowledge acquired to become a successful entrepreneur and business owner.
