Asasa tackles hostilities in Isoko South, deploys Army to affected communities ~ Truth Reporters

The raging communal conflicts between the two neighboring villages of Igbide and Okpolo-Enwhe has been curbed by the timely intervention of the Chairman Isoko South Local  Government Council, Hon. Victor Asasa. 

In a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Local Government, Betty Omoigho, says military personnel and a crack police team have been deployed to the affected communities and relative peace has been achieved at the time of filing in this report.

The CPS also said a dawn to dusk curfew has been put in place by the Chairman to forestall any unexpected hostilities in the affected areas.

It will be recalled that the neighboring villages of Igbide and Okpolo-Enwhe in Isoko South Local Local Government Area has been involved in an age long dispute over farming lands leading to the killing of a middle aged woman in Igbide community. 

Hon Victor Asasa called for cessation of hostilities and assured all aggrieved parties that necessary machineries have been put in place to find a lasting solution to the conflict.

At the time of filing in this report, men of the Nigeria armed forces and the police were patrolling the affected communities to forestall any further breakdown of law and order.
