New dawn for Obodeti community as Awero emerges President ~ Truth Reporters

...Ndakara pledges to work with the new executives

The people of Obodeti has elected Sir Solomon Awero  (KSC) as their Community President at Obodeti Community Town Hall, Obodeti-Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday 28th December,  2021. 

Sir Solomon Awero, a Knight of Saint Christopher along with Apostle Excel Odinde, David Edoja, Michael Eku Akpobor, Mr Alex Ebrudu and Efetobor Simeon O'tega were elected as President, Vice President,  Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Public Relations Officer, respectively.

In his acceptance speech, Sir Awero, while thanking "the Almighty God and all the people of Obodeti Community who has given me and my Excos the mandate to pilot the affairs of the community for the next four years through a peaceful, credible, free and fair elections", described his election as "a call to service." 

Sir Solomon Awero also promised to work with his co- contestant, Engr Godspower Odiete and all other groups/ bodies such as the elders council, the women wing ( eweya), the youth group and all the various branches within and outside the country.

Meanwhile, the President General of Orogun Kingdom, Chief Benson Ndakara (Esq), in his message to the Sir Solomon Awero-led executives, stated that "with this development, I congratulate the good people of Obodeti for putting the past behind them and making this very important decision that will open a new chapter of peace, unity and development. I am looking forward to working with you and your exco for the overall development of our great kingdom."

According to Mr. Efetobor Simeon O'tega, the Public Relations Officer of Obodeti,  "for over ten years now,  the community has been without elected executive  because of internal disagreements necessitating a committee of eminent members of the Community headed by Chief Ominigbo and supported by the likes of Sir Solomon Awero, Mr Henslope Imonivwerha and Mr Michael Eku Akpobor  who took it upon themselves to unite the Community and worked round the clock to ensure that all warring factions were brought to a round table to discuss and iron out their differences."

In a related development, the Sir Solomon Awero-led executive, as part of hitting the ground running,  drew the attention of all present to the deteroriating state of the community town hall, and the need to fix it immediately, resulting in the realization of over Six Hundred Thousand Naira (N600,000) in cash and pledge to commence the renovation.
