Iteire tasks ward chairmen on loyalty to Okowa, party leadership ~ Truth Reporters







Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon Christian Iteire has urged wards' Chairmen of the People's Democratic Party, PDP in the Local Government Area to remain committed to the dynamic leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Rt Hon Leo Ogor.


Making the clarion call during a meeting with ward Chairmen of the party at the Council Secretariat in Ozoro on Thursday, November 25, 2021, Iteire said that the purpose of the meeting was to interface with the Ward Chairmen was to further consolidate on the gains recorded by the party and further strengthened it at the ward levels as a most viable political platform in the rescue Nigeria project.


While enjoining the ward Chairmen to be committed, steadfast, loyal and resolute towards strengthening of the PDP in Isoko North, Hon Iteire admonished the wards' Chairmen not to be in haste, by quickly fraternising with aspirants as the year 2022 comes with intensified political activities.


Charging the Chairmen to be patient by waiting for directions and directives from the party's leadership, the Isoko North Council Chairman asserted that the leaders of the party in the Local Government Area strongly believed in the visionary leadership of the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Leo Ogor, and the leader of the party in the State, Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa who are expected to give political directives.


Bringing to mind the major roles played by the State Governor, Senator Okowa in stabilizing and strengthening the party through his active involvement in the recently held PDP national Convention which was devoid of acrimony and, the many reconciliations of aggrieved party members nationwide by the Governor, the Isoko North Council Boss assured the wards' Chairmen of a strong and purposeful leadership by the State Governor and Hon Ogor who is the leader of the party in the local government area.


While appreciating the wards' Chairmen for their support and goodwill during the local government elections and the Isoko North by-election, Iteire promised to always carry the Chairmen along by taking seriously issues relating to their welfare.


Hon Iteire commended the wards' Chairmen for their efforts during the voters' registration, and charged them to further encouraged and mobilised the people in their wards who are yet to fully register to seize opportunity of the ongoing registration by getting registered in order to be issued permanent voter's cards (PVCs).


Responding, the chairman of PDP wards' Chairmen, Mr Omosioni Onoyiwita appreciated the Council Chairman for the meeting, of which he appealed for more meetings in order to further strengthened the party at the wards level. While assuring of  the unflinching loyalty of the wards' Chairmen to Rt Hon Leo Ogor and the State Governor, Senator Okowa, Mr Onoyiwita appealed to the Council Chairman for assistance in order for the wards' chairmen to effectively carry out their responsibilities at the ward levels of the party.

 

The 12 ward chairmen present at the meeting frowned at the anti-party activities of Mr  Blessing Obomovo, and supported the Owhe Ward 6 of the PDP in its ongoing probe of the anti-party activities of Mr. Obomovo during the Isoko South Constituency 1 by election.


Speaking, during the meeting, the Local Government Area party Chairman, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, commended the Isoko North Council Chairman for his thought in calling for a meeting with the party's Chairmen. While calling on the wards Chairmen to be steadfast to the party and its leadership, Ogorugba asserted that, "the PDP has laid down rules and regulations and every members are subjected to the party's constitution which must be upheld"


"A situation, the Governor of the State, the State Party Chairman, the Speaker of the State Legislature and other leaders of the party in the State including those of Isoko South Local Government Area gathered and campaigned seriously for our party's candidate, Mr Ovuakpoye Evivie during the September By-election, and someone is rich and has people to pay to insult leaders on social media, came out to campaign against who the Governor went to campaign for, and his ward would call him to answer to allegations against him and he disregarded the ward's executive by saying if it's money he would give to the ward's executive was the highest insult a party member would give to a Party he belongs"


While urging the ward's executive to speed up the trial process of Obomovo, and move on to sundry issues such as the insulting of the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Leo Ogor and other leaders of the party in the Local Government Area particularly on social media platforms.


Present during the meeting were the Leader of the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Hon Udubra Francis , the majority Leader, Hon Olori Fred, councillors, the Supervisor of Finance, Surv Irori Samuel and the Special Adviser to the Chairman, Hon Imogu Joseph.
