Frontline Media lauds Iteire's strides in education infrastructure ~ Truth Reporters

Frontline News media on Wednesday, commended Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon Christian Iteire, for embarking on projects and programmes aimed at raising educational standards in the local government.

Giving the commendation on October 21, 2021 at the  Chairman's Office in Ozoro, the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Dr Daniel Awana lauded the Iteire for his zeal and passion in the area of education in the Local Government Area.

Describing Iteire as "performing Council Chairman", Dr Awana further commended him for prudent management of resources for the collective good of the people in Isoko North and for operating an open-door policy which has ensured a sense of belonging, probity, transperancy and promoting cordiality with relevant stakeholders including local government employees, the political class and the citizenry. 

Responding, Hon Iteire, while appreciating the media outfit for the visit and commendations poured on him, stated that, his priority since he assumed Office as Council Chairman in March has been the upliftment of the Education sector.

According to him, he and his team, hit the ground running, by taking a tour of primary Schools and primary healthcare Centres in the local government area as a way of getting abreast with the challenges and impediments faced by both staff and pupils.

At Ogewho-Iyede, it was "observed there was a school running but been operated in the community's town Hall, and the situation was terribly bad that, the pupils were in the town hall and the dispensing and receiving of knowledge was extremely difficult"

It was the disheartening experience according to the Chairman saw his administration acting swiftly, embarked on the construction of three blocks of six classrooms which is nearing completion.

Speaking further, Iteire noted that, the reopening of eighteen (18) adult education centres in the Local Government Area was imperative in addressing the unenviable educational status of the Isoko North people, the adults in particular, who were unable to acquire Western education.

He hinted on the pragmatic steps been taken to re-establish schools of creeches in selected places in the Local Government Area for parents to conveniently keep their wards and go for their daily endeavors.

He spoke on educational initiatives by his administration in partnering with both the Delta State Governments through its interventionist body, Delta State Universal Basic Education in addressing the infrastructural deficit at the some of the primary schools and educational programmes, amongst which was the partnership on the Federal Government's ongoing Npower programme, and also, the distribution of learning materials and items to pupils by the wife of Council Chairman, Mrs Gloria Iteire and public spirited individuals.

Glaringly, the enduring impact of raising the education standard of Isoko North by the current Local Government Administration, Council Boss, Hon Iteire stated that, next to Education sector is infrastructural development to which he's committed to.

Iteire listed some of the projects embarked upon by his administration to include the ongoing construction of 26 Lock-up shops at Oyede, the building of a modern abattoir in Ozoro, among others.

On rural Healthcare, he revealed that, his administration has taken initiatives of ensuring the renovation of some of the primary Healthcare facilities in active collaboration with oil firms operating in the local government area, and the partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on rural Healthcare delivery.

Hon Iteire reiterated his commitment to the development and advancement of Isoko North by seeing to it that all wards that made up the larger Isoko North Local Government Area bear imprints of his developmental strides as imperishable legacies.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a medal of honor and plague of excellence to the Council Chairman by the team of Frontline Media made up of Hon Chuks Elvis Ikenwa and Miss Paraya Daniel.
