Okowa's deep knowledge of legislation created good governance in Delta, says Oborevwori ~ Truth Reporters

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff  Oborevwori (JP), has said that the deep experience of the state governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, as a former Senator in the country, had continued to create better working synergy between the legislative and executive arms of the state government.

The speaker disclosed this during the Thanksgiving service for the second anniversary of the 7th Assembly at The Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), along Ibusa Road, in Asaba, the state capital.

Speaking on the success of the 7th Assembly, the speaker said that "It is good to give thanks to God in everything and always, and most importantly, the state is blessed with a very experienced governor, who knows the workings of the legislature, and he has continued to create good synergy between the legislature and the executive in the state."

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori added that, despite the challenges, the governor had continued to ensure even development by putting a favourable environment on the ground for the creation of prosperity for Deltans and residents in the state, just as the speaker assured Deltans of robust that would bring greater development for their general wellbeing in the state.

Earlier in the service, the officiating minister, Pastor David Popoola, who read from Jeremiah 33:14, said "God is a promise keeper and it is impossible for God to lie, but man can lie and when God speak a word, that word must be fulfilled."

He said that it was good to always give thanks to God, adding that as the members of the state legislature had come to give thanks to Him, they would never experience failure in the course of discharging their duties, just as he prayed that the grace of God would see the lawmakers through in making laws for the good governance of the state.

Pastor David admonished political office holders not to see themselves as achievers, but benefactors of God's blessings, adding that the moment they began to behave as self achievers, the grace of God would leave them and they would begin to fail, just as he enjoined Christians to embrace the spirit of thanksgiving at all times to attract progressiveness in their lives.
