--- Vows to sustain Peace in Oleh and environs

The People of Oleh Community in Delta State on the 30th of December at the Oleh civic centre during their delegates conference re-elected Chief Believe Alakri as their President General for a second tenure to run the affairs of the Community.

In a keenly contested delegates election Chief Believe Alakri pulled 164 votes to defeat Hon. Cheaver Ohoriemu and Evang. Erure with 6 and 2 votes respectively.

Others elected to suprintend the affairs of Oleh Community for the next three years are; Mr. Agare William- Vice-President, Barr. Oriki Obaro- Secretary General, Mr. David Okunna- Treasurer, Umukoro Oghenekioja Great- Financial Secretary, Obede Akpofuno- PRO, Igbosa Theophilus- Assistant Secretary General, Mrs. Juliana Itewo- Women leader, Mrs. Victoria Azino- assistant women leader, Mrs. Janet Urude- Women Secretary, Mr. Gabriel Ubara- Representative of Eviewho.

In his welcome address the President General of Oleh Community Chief Believe said that he was overwhelmed with the positive turn out of the patriotic annual delegates conference for the common good of Oleh Community.

He encouraged all to continue to keep the candle of love in the interest of Oleh Community burning to achieve the height and set goals of the Community.

Chief Alakri also stated that, on the 16th of October, 2020 was a regretted black and glooming day in the history of Oleh community that calls for intervention of every illustrious sons and daughters in the face of the gruesome murder of Oleh sons and daughters.

He noted that, the unity of Oleh community to pursue this black devil insecurity and deadliness is indispensable tool of progress. He urged the community to put all hands on desk to pursue the case to a logical conclusion.

"Necessary complaints and application have been made to the security agencies and the government functionaries are already doing their investigation with the intervention process of the government of Delta State.

"Let me reiterate that, His Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on the 22nd of December, 2020 constituted a 7-man Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the boundary dispute between Oleh and Ozoro communities headed by Hon. Justice Marcel Okoh," he said.

Meanwhile speaking with newsmen after he was elected for a second term, Chief Believe Alakri said that, "It is only God that can place me to do the needful, there is nothing as good as peace, we need absolute peace in Oleh community so that we can overcome all the plans of the enemies," he stated.

"We need to maintain our standard more than what we have done before. And what we haven't done, we pray God should give us the strength to surmount all the obstacles.

Chief Alakri further stated that, "I want Oleh to be more united than what it is today, since I am close to HRM Odio-ologbo of Oleh, some people are not happy with it. And I know I am going to build on that relationship so that we can be more united to move the community forward.

He also said that, in every election there must be winner and losers, I congratulate everyone of them that contested and lost, I am going to reach out to them, let us join hands together and move the community forward.

The delegates conference was supervised by the chairman of Isoko South local government area, Hon. Itiako Constantine Ikpokpo duly represented by the secretary, Mr. Dennis Obrogo.

Also in attendance; clergymen, Oleh council of Chiefs, delegates from across Delta State and other parts of the country, councillors representing ward 1 and 2 and cross section of women and youths of the community amongst others.
