As Nigerians celebrate "Democracy Day" on June 12, the Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Chief Emamusi Obiodeh has admonished Nigerians to fervently uphold the democratic values which our founding fathers fought for.

Hon. Obiodeh who was a former leader of the Isoko South Legislative Arm in a chat with newsmen on the occasion of Nigeria’s Democracy Day, described the moment as a dream come true for our heroes; dead and alive, through whose effort the country rode to popular democracy.

According to him, it behoves on every Nigerian to cherish and portray these values wherever they find themselves as good ambassadors of our dear country.

Obiodeh also extolled the laudable roles which our various governments have continued to play in upholding the tenets of our hard earned democracy.

He specifically commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his outstanding accomplishments in upholding party internal democracy which he epitomised in the various party primaries held across the state and his national assignments for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
