Delta pledges robust relationship with NYSC ~ Truth Reporters

The Deputy Governor of Delta, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro has assured the Delta Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Mrs Olutayo Samuel that the state government will deepen the existing cordial relationship with the Scheme.

Otuaro who received the NYSC Coordinator and her team at Government House Asaba, expressed delight with the visitors for their visit, assuring that the government of Delta will do everything possible to uphold the vision that gave birth to the scheme.

He explained further that "the vision of the NYSC is a very laudable one. It has added value to the nations growth. For us in Delta, we are out and prepared to give our support to the scheme to achieve those set goals"

The Deputy Governor commended the coordinator further for recognising and appreciating the efforts of Delta State government towards the over all growth of the scheme in the state.

He appealed to the NYSC authorities to post Corp members to the riverine communities especially Warri South West Local Government Areas which he said, before now, was in dire need of teachers and other man power.

The Deputy Governor assured them that the Government has been able to ensure that there is peace in every part of the state, assuring that all corp members posted to the state are adequately protected and their needs taken care of.

Earlier in her address, the Coordinator of the Scheme in the State, Mrs Olutayo Samuel commended the Deputy Governor and Government of Delta State for the assistance the Scheme has been receiving since its inception in the state..

She said "we deemed it necessary to come and appreciate you the Deputy Governor of the state for the wonderful works you have been doing for the NYSC, Delta State. We rated Delta State high in our Scheme because your contribution to the NYSC is second to none. We have indeed recorded great assistance from this government.

"Your have always been there for us. The corp members are our children. We are looking forward for more support from you your Excellency. Thank you very much for the reception. God bless you and everyone present " She stated.

She assured that Corp members will be posted to every parts of the state including Warri Southwest and Udu local government areas which she agreed were before now, lagging behind in terms Corp members.

Those in attendance during the NYSC visit to the Deputy Governor include, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Information, Engr, Jude Sinebe, Deputy Chief of staff Government House Asaba, Dr Henry Sakpra, Commissioner for Special Duties Government House Asaba, Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga among others.
