Burutu Set to Receive Delta First Lady for You Matter Charity Foundation Outreach ~ Truth Reporters

Burutu Local Government Area is set to host the Wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, as she leads the You Matter Charity Foundation on a humanitarian outreach to Kiagbodo, headquarters of Burutu Federal Constituency, on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Chief Julius Takeme (JP), in a statement on behalf of the government and people of the council, welcomed the First Lady and her team, describing the visit as a significant milestone for the people of the area.

Takeme noted that the outreach is part of the Foundation's ongoing tour of federal constituencies across Delta State, adding that Burutu Federal Constituency, which comprises only Burutu Local Government Area, is honoured to host the humanitarian initiative.

He commended the You Matter Charity Foundation for its sustained interventions aimed at supporting children with special needs, empowering women and improving the welfare of vulnerable members of society through its humanitarian programmes anchored on the motto, "Everybody is Somebody."

According to the council chairman, the First Lady has continued to demonstrate compassion and commitment to improving the lives of Deltans through initiatives that have brought hope and relief to many families across the state.

"We are delighted to receive Her Excellency, not only because of the office she occupies but because of the compassion and selfless service she has consistently demonstrated through the You Matter Charity Foundation. Her dedication to touching lives has continued to inspire hope and transform communities across Delta State," Takeme said.

He expressed appreciation for the Foundation's humanitarian interventions, saying the Kiagbodo outreach is expected to deliver meaningful support to beneficiaries and further strengthen the Foundation's impact in Burutu Federal Constituency.

Takeme also called on political leaders, elected and appointed public office holders, councillors, traditional leaders, women and youth groups, religious organisations, civil society organisations, party members and other stakeholders across the local government to turn out in large numbers to accord the First Lady and her entourage a warm reception.

He urged residents to use the occasion to showcase the unity and hospitality for which Burutu is known while appreciating the Foundation's contributions to humanitarian service in the state.

The council chairman reaffirmed the readiness of Burutu to receive the First Lady and expressed optimism that the outreach would leave a lasting legacy of hope, empowerment and improved livelihoods for beneficiaries in the area.
