Okwuofu At 76: Oseme Celebrates a Life of Sacrifice, Service ~ Truth Reporters

 

Former Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Council, Hon Chuks Oseme , has  paid glowing tributes to a one time Commissioner and political leader of Aniocha North , Dame Patience Okwuofu, describing her as an accomplished political titan .

According to Hon Oseme, Dame Okwuofu,  who cut her political teeth from the defunct Bendel State , as the Councilor representing the then Aniocha Local Government , has etched her name on the political sands of time in Delta by sheer dint of selflessness, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the ideals of unity and forthrightness .

In a congratulatory statement to mark Okwuofu's 76th birth anniversary on Wednesday June 24, 2026, the former Council Boss , said the achievements of the one time Commissioner for Culture and Tourism , Chairman Civil Service Commission , and currently a member of the State Advisory agd Peace Building Committee has over the years earned her the sobriquet "Mother of Government", which , to all intents and purposes, aptly describes Dame Okwuofu's widespread acceptance as an influential leader in the affairs of state.

Oseme noted too , that the revered elder stateswoman has been a key player in strengthening political structures across the state in general , and Aniocha North , in particular , adding that her motherly roles in this regard has led to high yield electoral fortunes for the All Progressives Congress in the area

The former Council Chairman highlighted Okwuofu's community development advocacy that attracted the Obomkpa-Ukwu-Nzu road as well as erosion control measures, significant projects that have greatly improved connectivity and enhanced the quality of life of people in the area.

He said despite the celebrant's age , she has continued to play active roles in political and community activities , an act which serves as a source of inspiration to the younger generation and her contemporaries alike .

Her life has been exemplary , marked with   devotion and enduring commitment to the progress of her beloved Aniocha North in particular , and Delta State in general. Our mother has over the years , distinguished herself through sterling selfless service and dedicated her life to the welfare of her people, to the admiration of all and sundry. It is my fervent prayer that the good Lord continues to grant her more robust health and grace to continue impacting on society. Happy birthday , dear MOG, our mother in whom we are well pleased".
