DSCTDA Pledges Support for DOU as VC Seeks Infrastructure Partnership ~ Truth Reporters

The Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Mr. Patrick Ukah, has assured Dennis Osadebay University (DOU) of the Agency's commitment to supporting the institution's infrastructural development in line with its intervention mandate.

Ukah gave the assurance on Tuesday while receiving the Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University, Professor Samuel Ovuete Aghalino, and members of the university's management team during a courtesy visit to the Agency's headquarters in Asaba.

Welcoming the delegation, the Director General described the visit as timely and significant, noting that collaboration between government agencies and educational institutions is essential for sustainable development and the advancement of the state.

He explained that DSCTDA is primarily an intervention agency established to facilitate development within the Delta State Capital Territory and stressed the importance of building strategic partnerships with institutions such as Dennis Osadebay University.

Ukah commended the Vice Chancellor for initiating the visit and congratulated the university on its steady growth and successful take-off. He expressed confidence in the institution's future under Professor Aghalino's leadership and assured the university that the Agency would make its own contribution towards supporting its development within the scope of its mandate.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Aghalino, said the visit was aimed at strengthening the cordial relationship between the university and the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency while seeking collaboration in addressing the institution's critical infrastructure needs.

He identified the university's priority needs to include access roads, classroom blocks, office accommodation for lecturers, workshops, laboratories, and other teaching facilities and instructional aids. According to him, providing world-class infrastructure would not only improve teaching and learning but also showcase the Delta State Government's commitment to quality education and human capital development.

Responding, Ukah acknowledged the requests and reiterated that although DSCTDA operates mainly as an intervention agency, it would make its own contribution towards supporting the university's development.

The Director General also prayed for a successful tenure for the Vice Chancellor and expressed optimism that his administration would position Dennis Osadebay University among the leading higher institutions in the country.

The courtesy visit ended with both the Agency and the university reaffirming their commitment to strengthening collaboration in the pursuit of infrastructural development, educational excellence, and the overall growth of the Delta State Capital Territory.
