BPP, ICPC Excellence Awards: Andaye Lauds Oborevwori’s Transparent, Accountable Leadership ~ Truth Reporters

The Award of Excellence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori by the Bureau for Public Procurement ( BPP), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ( ICPC), have been described by Bomadi Council Chairman , Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, as further validation of the Governor's transparency , accountability, and prudent management of  public resources.

Governor Oborevwori received the award on Wednesday June 24, 2026, during the opening ceremony of a 2- Day Public Procurement and Enlightenment Workshop for Executive Council members and top government functionaries , at the Unity Hall, Government House , Asaba.

An elated Hon Andaye , in a brief media chat with select journalists , on the sidelines of the event, said the dividends of democracy in Delta has been evenly spread across the three senatorial districts and twenty five local government areas of the state , in line with his administration's MORE Agenda.

The Bomadi Council Executive Chairman, who also doubles as the Secretary of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ( ALGON), Delta State Chapter, said for the Governor to have executed projects across Delta worth over #654.5 billion in 2025 completely debt free , speaks volumes why these very critical agencies found him worthy to receive this inspiring award .

Hon Andaye also emphasized that Oborevwori's achievements in fiscal discipline , prudent financial management , as well as strict adherence to due process , clearly demonstrate that responsible governance and sustainable development go hand in hand.

The Delta ALGON Secretary stated that at the local government level, Governor Oborevwori's mantra for zero tolerance for shoddy jobs and adherence to strict principles of due process, has largely accounted for the quality of projects executed by Council Chairmen in the State .

Hon Andaye particularly highlighted the need for Deltans to appreciate the award bestowed on the Governor , adding that this award will spur all top government functionaries , especially those who are engaged in projects processing , to be more emboldened to adhere strictly to due process, probity and accountability .
