Ugboba Remains Autonomous, Historically Prominent, Says Obi Nkebakwu III ~ Truth Reporters

The Obi of Ugboba kingdom and current Chairman , Aniocha North Traditional Rulers Forum, His Royal Majesty , Agbogidi , Obi Ezedinbu Nkebakwu, the Third, has affirmed the autonomy of his kingdom , also alluding that it is prominent in the history of Nigeria and the Midwestern state era.

Obi Nkebakwu III also dismissed claims of any allleged merger with any town , stating categorically , that the Supreme court had already put paid to such spurious claims , which he said were borne out of envy and misguided assumptions by the sponsors of such falsehood .

Speaking with select newsmen in his Ugboba Palace in Aniocha North , the highly cerebral Royal father was unequivocal and strident in his assertion of his kingdom's autonomy which even a then Bendel State government document had validated in 1979 when a merger between it and neighbouring Obomkpa community was proposed by some faceless persons

According to Obi Nkebakwu III, "Consistently , Ugboba has featured in the history of the Midwest and Bendel era, and now in Delta State. We have always been autonomous , have always played one role or the other, in the history of Nigeria . During the Nigeria Civil war, some prominent persons from this kingdom fought the war. One of them, Captain Isichei, is still very much alive today to tell his story . The bunker he built to protect himself is still there. Even the coal deposits we have are well documented even during the colonial era".

Speaking about the autonomy of his kingdom in terms of the traditional institution, he said his father,His Royal Majesty  Obi Justine Okeibunor Nkebakwu II was presented the staff of office in 1979 during the  era of Professor Ambrose Alli as Governor of then Bendel State , while himself was presented his own in 2016, after his traditional coronation in  1993, alluding the time lapse to the laws that forbade minors from being given staff of office until adulthood, as the reason.

In the area of insecurity currently causing concerns across communities in the country, Obi Nkebakwu III thanked God for the relative peace in Ugboba , tracing it to the law abiding and peaceful disposition of his people as well as "collective proactive measures put in place" to nip traces of external aggression , in the bud.

The Royal father and Chairman Aniocha North Traditional Rulers Forum , therefore tasked his subjects, both at home and the diaspora, to continue to remain united and always remember their community in terms of bringing development home .
