Oleh Declaration: Andaye Mobilizes Delta South Council Chairmen for Sen. Joel-Onowakpo ~ Truth Reporters

In his capacity as Secretary , Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ( ALGON), Delta Chapter , Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, on Saturday May 1, 2026, mobilized his colleagues from Delta South Senatorial District , for the formal declaration of Senator representing the district, Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas, for a second term in office at Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South .

Council Chairmen from Bomadi, Burutu, Isoko South , Isoko North, Patani, Warri North, Warri South , and Warri South West , respectively, rallied behind Senator Onowakpo's reelection bid, thus reinforcing collective resolve for sustained progress, effective representation, and development across Delta South .

According to the Bomadi Council Chairman who spoke on the sidelines of the formal declaration ceremony , Council Chairmen across the district , were unanimously resolved to support Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas for a second term in office , come 2027, due to his track record of visible representation at the red chambers .

According to Hon Andaye , Delta ALGON has also fully endorsed the reelection of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, to continue their good reformative works under the Renewed Hope and More Agenda , respectively .

The establishment of the Nigerian Maritime University , Okerenkoko by the Federal Government as well as the massive infrastructural drive in the district in particular , and Delta in general, by Governor Oborevwori, also featured as reasons behind the Council Chairmen's full endorsement for the duo.

The Delta ALGON Secretary therefore appealed to the people of the Senatorial district to not only support President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori's reelection , but also that of Senator Onowakpo and other APC candidates that will emerge after the soon coming party primaries, assuring them that more accelerated development and people oriented programmes , await them in the district.

The event which attracted a large turn out of political stakeholders , leaders and supporters , including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly , Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor , who presided over the voice vote that unanimously adopted President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, as the district's sole candidates .
