2027: Engr. Ogba Rallies Support for Gov. Oborevwori’s Re-election Bid ~ Truth Reporters

An illustrious son of Oleh Kingdom and Chairman of the Oleh Progressive Minds Association (OPMA), Engr. Paul Ogba, has organised a solidarity rally in support of the re-election bid of the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, ahead of the 2027 general election.

Engr. Ogba, who is the younger brother of the late Hon. Kenneth Ogba, former member representing Isoko South Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, said the rally was organised in appreciation of the governor’s performance and infrastructural development across the state.

The solidarity rally, held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, commenced from Isoko Central School (ICS), Oleh, through the Isoko District Council (IDC) Road, and ended at the Okugbe Oleh Youth Secretariat.

Addressing journalists at the venue, Engr. Ogba said Governor Oborevwori deserved a second term because of what he described as the governor’s outstanding achievements in infrastructure and governance.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that Governor Oborevwori has performed excellently well. There are flyovers everywhere, infrastructural development across the state, and workers are being paid salaries promptly,” he said.

He described the governor as a listening leader who pays attention to the yearnings of the people and continues to add value to the state through impactful projects and developmental strides.

Engr. Ogba, however, appealed to the governor to urgently address the electricity challenges facing Isoko Nation, noting that the area had remained in darkness for too long.

“Oleh and the entire Isoko Nation expect more from the governor, especially in the area of electricity. The power situation here is very challenging, and we need government intervention,” he stated.

The OPMA chairman also disclosed his intention to contest for the chairmanship of Isoko South Local Government Council, expressing confidence that he would deliver development if given the mandate by the people. Supporters at the rally openly declared their backing for his aspiration.

“The governor knows what we need, and that is why we are here to support him wholeheartedly. I am also ready to drive progress and development in Isoko South if given the opportunity to serve,” he added.

He further urged members of the association and eligible residents who were yet to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so in preparation for the 2027 elections.

Also speaking at the rally, Convener of Read and Lead and Isoko Need Light, Comrade Ubara Obaro, commended Governor Oborevwori for his infrastructural achievements, saying the governor had demonstrated “street credibility” through visible development projects across the state.

He nevertheless appealed to the governor to intensify efforts toward resolving the persistent electricity crisis in Isoko Nation, stressing that stable power supply would improve education and boost businesses in the area.

“Students should not continue to read with candles, and businesses should not suffer because of lack of electricity,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs. Esther Jombo praised Governor Oborevwori for his developmental strides and appealed to him to give urgent attention to the electricity challenge confronting Isoko communities.
