JWGS Old Boys Association Mourns Passing of Bishop Vincent Muoghere ~ Truth Reporters

 






The National Executive Committee of the James Welch Grammar School Old Boys Association (JWGS OBA) has announced the passing of one of its revered pioneer members, Bishop Vincent Muoghere (Rtd), describing his death as a profound loss to the association and the wider school community.


In an official statement signed by the President of the Association, Engr. Fred Edafioghor, the OBA expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the retired bishop, who was widely regarded as a symbol of dedication, unity, and service.


According to the statement, Bishop Muoghere remained an active and committed member of the association until his passing, consistently participating in its activities. 


He was noted for his remarkable attendance at Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and National Executive Council (NEC) meetings, where he offered wise counsel and promoted harmony among members.


“His presence was always marked by wisdom, calm counsel, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of the OBA,” the statement read.


The association recalled that at its last AGM, the late bishop made a passionate appeal for peace and unity, urging members to remain focused on the collective growth of both the association and their alma mater. The OBA noted that his message has now taken on even deeper significance in light of his passing.


Until his death after a brief illness, Bishop Muoghere was also an active member of the Ughelli Branch of the association, contributing meaningfully to its activities and strengthening bonds among members at the local level.


Describing him as a man of humility and genuine love for the association, the OBA said his legacy of service, devotion, and commitment to unity would continue to inspire current and future members.


“This is a great loss to the entire JWGS community. Bishop Muoghere will be greatly missed for his wealth of wisdom, humility, and unwavering dedication,” the statement added.


The association called on members to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and to support his family during this difficult time. 


It also assured that further details regarding burial arrangements would be communicated in due course.


Bishop Vincent Muoghere is remembered for his enduring contributions to the growth and cohesion of the JWGS Old Boys Association, leaving behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.
