Birthday celebration: Delta First Lady assures widows of continued support ~ Truth Reporters

As part of activities to mark her 56th birthday anniversary celebration, Wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has assured widows of Delta and Bomadi in particular , of her continued support to ensure they sustain their families.

The wife of the Governor equally stated that the Oborevwori administration remains committed in improving the lives of women across the state .

The Delta First Lady gave these assurances on Thursday February 5th , 2026 while celebrating her 56th birthday anniversary with widows from Bomadi Local government area, at the Deaconess Tobore Ultra Modern Multi purpose Event Centre, in Bomadi

Represented by her daughter, Barr Omonigho Oborevwori, the founder of the "You Matter" charity foundation , said she chose to celebrate her birthday with the widows of Bomadi because they represent endurance, sacrifice, and quiet strenght .

The wife of the State Governor said: "Many of you have borne life's challenges with dignity, faith , and perseverance.l want you to know that you are really valued and cherished. I assure you that the Oborevwori administration will continue to build a state where compassion and justice reign supreme. For you widows of Bomadi, l assure you that you are not alone"

Deaconess Oborevwori also commended the Executive Chairman of Bomadi local government , Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, and his wife , Hon Rejoice Andaye, for their various widow and elderly support initiatives , encouraging them not to relent in putting smiles on the faces of this most vulnerable group.

Earlier in his welcome address, an emotion laden Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye , commended the Delta First Lady for singling out Bomadi to celebrate her birth anniversary with widows among the 25 local government areas in the state , describing the gesture as "first of its kind in the history of the local government".

Describing the First Lady of Delta as a praying mother whose pillar of support has greatly helped her husband Governor Oborevwori to focus fully on his people oriented governance of the state , the Bomadi Council Boss lauded Deaconess Oborevwori for her inclusivity and opened to dialogue at all times.

In her remarks , wife of the Bomadi Council Chairman, Mrs Rejoice Andaye , thanked the First Lady for choosing to celebrate her day with the widows of the area, describing it as a morale booster .

She used the opportunity to congratulate the first lady , while wishing her more of God's divine health , protection and wisdom to continue to be a pillar of support to her husband, family and the entire state.

In his brief exhortation, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN), Bomadi chapter, Apostle Liberty Usiayo, described the celebrant as  "a prayer warrior loved and cherished by all"

In their separate goodwill messages , the Chairmen of Patani and Warri South West local government Councils, Hon Isaac Aguana and Chief Sylvester Oromoni, respectively, praised the Delta First Lady for her uncommon strenght of character, godliness, and milk of human kindness, describing her as the Esther of this generation in Delta State.

The highpoints of the memorable celebration of Deaconess Oborevwori's birthday celebration with Bomadi widows, included the distribution of food and clothing items to the widows, cutting of the birthday cake, as well as a birthday dance spurred by the wife of the Bomadi Council Chairman, Mrs Rejoice Andaye with the widows, and joined by the first lady's representative and other women

Among those present were the Councilors of Bomadi local government Legislature , the leadership of the National Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE) Bomadi chapter ,community leaders , wives of Senator James Manager , Hon Oboro Preyor, Economic Adviser to Governor , Chief Barry Gbe, as well as that of Patani local government , Mrs. Aguana, among others.
