The Common Men Assembly Launches “Back to School 2026” Initiative to Strengthen Education Across Delta ~ Truth Reporters

 

 

The Common Men Assembly (CMA) has officially launched its “Back to School 2026” initiative, a strategic education support programme designed to improve learning conditions in underserved communities across Delta State. The initiative is scheduled to reach 25 communities across five Local Government Areas within the week.

 

CMA, a respected non-governmental organization made up of young professionals from diverse sectors, is implementing the programme in partnership with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited and the Godfrey Pondi Book Club. The focus is on supporting primary schools through the distribution of essential learning materials, directly responding to persistent gaps in access to quality education.

 

Speaking at the launch, Chairman of the Common Men Assembly and medical professional, Chief Angodideke Jude, stressed the central role of education in societal development. He noted that education is the foundation for progress and that providing children with basic learning tools is a practical investment in their future and the future of their communities. He added that the Back to School initiative has become a core part of CMA’s social intervention efforts.

 

On the first day of the programme, several primary schools in Burutu and Warri South West Local Government Areas received educational supplies. Schools in Okosugbene, Orugbene, and Ofogbene each received 30 desks alongside other learning materials, while additional schools received books, school bags, and sandals to support pupils’ daily learning needs.

 

The following schools and representatives formally received the materials on behalf of their institutions and communities:

 

Benja-light Primary School, Okosugbene, represented by Mrs. Ebiyerin Esiri. Aprebodo Primary School, Izanza, represented by Mr. Roland Government. Ella Primary School, Ofogbene, represented by Mrs. Serigbana Emomotimi. Akolobegba Primary School, Orugbene, represented by a community leader. Ekumu Primary School, Ekogbene, represented by Community Chairman, Mr. Ebikanwei Amapere. Egbondi Primary School, Bulou-Indoro, represented by the Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Oweikeniafa Ebi.

 

The excitement among pupils and teachers as they received the materials highlighted the real impact of the intervention. Beyond the distribution of supplies, the “Back to School 2026” initiative stands as a message of hope and a reminder of what collective community effort can achieve.

 

Through this programme, the Common Men Assembly continues to demonstrate the importance of grassroots action in strengthening education, empowering communities, and shaping a better future for children across Delta State.
