Former HoS Sir Origho Affirms Integrity of Delta Civil Service ~ Truth Reporters
By Andy Emephia
Former Head of the Civil Service of Delta State, Sir Patrick Origho , has debunked claims making the rounds that public servants aid and abet larceny by political office holders.
Sir Origho lambasted those he described as "rabble rousers", stating that the public servant is incorruptible in the light of political malfeasance by office holders.
In an exclusive media chat with journalists at Otokutu in Ughelli south LGA, the former Head of Service stated that though there is a decline in the ethics of the service , the overriding principle of service delivery has not been lost on public servants.
Said Origho :"I make bold to say that the insinuating about public servants aiding political office holders to pilfer public funds is very wrong. It's a misconception. If a political officer has a mindset for larceny, he will exhibit it because it's in his DNA".
Origho admonished public servants to continue to remain committed to the ideals of the service , as the continuity, permanency, and stability they enjoy, will not be gotten anywhere , even from private employment.
The former Head of Service also tasked public servants to continue to do their best to ensure that the machinery of government business remains fluid, adaptable , and skewed ti emerging trends of the digital age.
On challenges faced by public servants, the former Delta State Head of Service stressed the need for the government of the day to evolve workable solution such as viable economic ventures and enhanced remuneration for public servants in line with the demands of their duties .
