Bomadi Legislature Petitions Delta Assembly, Disowns Impeachment Claims Against Council Chairman ~ Truth Reporters
The authentic leadership of the Bomadi Local Government Legislative Arm, led by Hon. Wurukeseiye Doubra, on Friday, January 9, 2025, formally submitted a petition to the Delta State House of Assembly, reaffirming its status as the legitimate and duly recognised leadership of the Bomadi Legislature.
Hon. Doubra was accompanied to the Assembly complex in Asaba by principal officers of the Legislative Arm, including Hon. John Tomme (Deputy Leader), Hon. Cletus Porbeni (Majority Leader), Hon. Eke Clerk Watchman (Deputy Majority Leader) and Hon. Loveth Tutu Ogbomudia (Deputy Chief Whip).
In the petition, the legislature unequivocally declared that all purported impeachment letters and related actions against the Bomadi Council Chairman, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, are “procedurally void,” having been carried out without adherence to due legislative process.
The Doubra-led leadership further stated that any individuals or groups laying claim to the leadership of the Bomadi Legislative Arm lack constitutional and procedural backing. The petition, jointly signed by Hon. Doubra and the Clerk of the House, Comrade Clerke, urged the Delta State House of Assembly to officially disregard such claims.
According to the petitioners, attempts to alter the legitimate leadership of the Legislative Arm pose a threat to stable governance at the local government level and undermine public confidence in elected representatives.
The submission serves both as a formal notice to the Delta State House of Assembly and a public affirmation of Hon. Doubra’s unbroken mandate as Leader of the Bomadi Legislature. By formally presenting the petition, Hon. Doubra and his colleagues stressed that all leadership disputes must be resolved strictly in accordance with the law and through transparent, constitutional means.
