Bomadi Legislative Arm suspends 6 councilors over botched leadership crises ~ Truth Reporters

The Legislative Arm of Bomadi Local Government Council of Delta State has suspended six of its members after a botched leadership impeachment crises. 

According to a statement signed by the Leader of Legislative Arm of Bomadi Council Hon Wurukeseye Doubra and Cmr Julius Clerke, Clark of the Legislative Arm an emergency sitting on 5th January, 2026 was held at its chambers 14 members including the Leader of the Legislative Arm endorsed the suspension the suspension of Hon Tiriki ThankGod, Hon Harris Barbar and Hon Ebi Nanakumor.

Other Councilors affected by the suspension include, Hon Isaiah Selekekeme, Hon Pius Komuko and Hon Bariki Desmond.

The Statement held that the suspension of the six members followed their involvement in a no quorum sitting to impeach  the leadership of Bomadi Council Legislative Arm.

 The Statement by Wurukeseye and Clerke, further noted that the mace which is the symbol of authority was not found during the botched session stressed that the session holds no water. 

According to the statement, any mis-deeds of the leadership of the House must be communicated to the persons  added that due process was  not followed.

Hon Doubra thanked his Colleagues for the confidence reposed on him, pleads more commitment in carrying members along, as well as fostering stronger bond between the Executive Arm and the Legislature.

Speaking shortly after the seating, Hon Doubra called for calm and dispelled rumour of change in leadership in the Bomadi Council Legislative Arm.
