The Archbishop of Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church, Most Rev. Goddowell Avwomakpa, has presented cars and educational scholarships to Pastor ThankGod Nuwhele and Rev. Racheal, in recognition of their dedicated service to the church.
The gesture took place during the General Council meeting of the church, which held from January 8 to 10, 2026, at the church’s headquarters, with ministers and delegates drawn from various branches in attendance.
Pastor ThankGod Nuwhele, who serves as the Secretary General of the church, and Rev. Racheal, the Personal Secretary to the Archbishop, were both commended for their loyalty, commitment and selfless contributions to the growth and administration of the church.
In addition to the presentation of cars, the Archbishop also awarded scholarships to their children as part of the church’s welfare and encouragement programme.
Speaking at the event, Archbishop Avwomakpa emphasized the importance of recognising faithfulness and diligence in ministry, noting that honouring those who labour sacrificially in God’s vineyard serves as motivation to others.
The General Council also approved the extension of scholarship support to other members of the church who are students in higher institutions, reaffirming the church’s commitment to education and human capital development.
In another major highlight of the council, Deacon Sylvester of the Obiaruku branch, a serving police officer, was ordained as a Pastor.
The ordination was said to be in recognition of his meritorious service, exemplary conduct and outstanding testimonies both in his secular duty and church work.
The three-day council featured prayers, deliberations on church growth, welfare initiatives and strategic planning, as leaders expressed gratitude to God for the progress of the church and renewed their commitment to its mission.
