Yuletide: Andaye cautions hoteliers on stringent security measures to protect genuine guests ~ Truth Reporters

Executive Chairman of Bomadi local government Council, Hon Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has charged hoteliers operating within the council area to adopt stringent security measures to protect genuine guests using their facilities as the yuletide approaches.


Andaye equally read the riot act , to any hotelier giving accommodation to undesirable elements, warning that they will be treated as accomplices in the event of any incident at their lodging places



The Bomadi local Government Chairman handed down the warning at an interactive session with hoteliers operating within the Council area in his office on Thursday November 27, 2025.



According to Andaye, the caution has become imperative, judging from the fact that influx of persons will be expected to visit their hometowns from where they ply their trade during the festive season


As such , the Bomadi Council Chairman explained, it is incumbent on him as the Chief Security officer of Bomadi local government, to place the red flags on likely activities that could escalate to detail the peaceful environment that follows the yuletide celebration .



Admonishing the hoteliers , Andaye stressed,: "You can acquire and mount modern crime detecting appliances in your hotels such as CCTV cameras, metal detectors , as well as ensure proper documentation for guests and visitors to your facilities. This will go a long way in keeping members of the public patronizing your hotels , safe , in addition to protecting the integrity and image of your investment".


In his response , the Chairman of Bomadi Hoteliers Association, Chief Collins Asaisai, commended Hon Andaye for convening the meeting, describing it as timely .



He assured the Bomadi Council Chairman of the readiness of his members to adopt the security measures advocated , but charged Hon Andaye to assist them towards ensuring that the Benin Electricity Distribution Company ( BEDC) which is in charge of supplying power to their facilities in Bomadi, lives up to their billing .
