Andaye Hails Bayelsa Governor Diri’s Defection to APC ~ Truth Reporters

Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has congratulated Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging him to remain steadfast in his commitment to the party’s ideals and progressive governance.

 

Andaye gave the commendation during Governor Diri’s formal declaration to join the APC from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), held at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium, Yenagoa, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

 

The Bomadi Council Chairman, who joined Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other prominent political figures at the event, lauded Diri’s decision, describing it as a bold and strategic step in the interest of Bayelsa’s development and national political alignment.

 

Hon. Andaye, who is also the Secretary of the Delta State chapter of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), expressed confidence that the APC represents the most viable platform for sustainable development, unity, and stability in governance.

 

According to him: “I wholeheartedly congratulate His Excellency, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, on his formal declaration for the APC. The presence of the Vice President, the Senate President, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma, and several other distinguished leaders at this historic event underscores the significance of this moment. I urge Governor Diri to remain committed to the ideals and objectives of the party as he embarks on this new political journey.”

 

He therefore called on the people of Bayelsa State to rally behind their Governor, noting that his alignment with the APC at the national level will further enhance development prospects and deliver greater dividends of democracy to the state.
