A Tribute to Excellence: HRM Barrister Johnson Egbo's Unwavering Pursuit of Knowledge ~ Truth Reporters
By Emakpor Odogu
I am honored to share my experience of a momentous occasion that will be etched in the annals of history. As Hon. Emakpor Odogu, Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Development, I was privileged to attend the Call to Bar ceremony of His Royal Majesty Barrister Johnson Egbo, the Ovie of Emede Kingdom, in Abuja.
HRM Egbo's achievement is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and determination. As I had the honor to read his biography during the reception, I highlighted the remarkable fact that he pursued a law degree at an advanced age, defying conventional norms. His decision to embark on a full time 5-year law course, without prior experience in university education , is a remarkable display of courage and resilience. What made this case unique is that most people who went to read Law at old age are those who were hitherto graduate of other discipline. Therefore have gotten rudiments of university education. For someone with enormous family and community leadership responsibilities to take this initiative is unique.
What makes his achievement truly unique is that he excelled in this endeavor, demonstrating that with focus and dedication, age is not a barrier to success. His accomplishment is a beacon of hope for those who may feel that their dreams are unattainable, and it is a testament to the transformative power of education.
The attendance of esteemed professors from Igbinedion University; Professor Oshem and Prof. Charity Emaviwe where he earned his law degree, was a fitting tribute to his outstanding achievement. Their presence was a testament to the king's dedication to academic excellence and his commitment to serving his community. Other dignitaries who honor him with their esteem presence are Barr. Olumide, Barr. Segun Odidi, Chief Don Alex and Chief Jerkins.
The Abuja branch of Emede Progress Union (EPU) and Isoko Development Union (IDU) and all the Isoko women group in Abuja attended the immediate reception that followed the call to Bar in Abuja.
As a representative of the Delta State Governor, I am proud to say that HRM Egbo's achievement reflects the values of our great state: excellence, perseverance, and community service. His legacy will undoubtedly inspire generations to come, and we celebrate his remarkable achievement as a victory for our entire community.
Congratulations, HRM Barrister Johnson Egbo, on this outstanding achievement! 🎉
