2027: Tinubu, Oborevwori Deserve Re-Election — Delta Works Commissioner, Izeze ~ Truth Reporters
Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, has declared that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori have earned the confidence of Deltans and Nigerians for re-election in 2027.
Izeze made the remark on Thursday in Asaba while speaking on the sidelines of the maiden Delta State House of Assembly Speaker’s Annual Leadership Series, which brought together members of the 1st to 8th Assemblies.
The theme of the session was “Leadership Dynamics in the Delta State House of Assembly: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”
The extraordinary session, presided over by the Speaker of the 8th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, climaxed with the adoption of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori as the sole candidates of the serving and former lawmakers for the 2027 presidential and governorship elections.
The legislators including “Non-Sitting Members” of previous Assemblies also passed a vote of implicit confidence on both leaders, commending their commitment to good governance, stability, and development.
The motion for adoption was moved by a member of the 1st Assembly and former House of Representatives member, Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda. It was seconded by Hon. Kris Njokwuemeni of the 2nd Assembly, who previously served as Majority Leader. The motion was unanimously carried by the lawmakers.
Speaking to journalists, Izeze, who represented Ughelli South State Constituency from 2015 to 2023 and served as Majority Whip in his first term, lauded the decision of the legislators, describing it as a reflection of confidence in the performance of both Tinubu and Oborevwori.
He praised Speaker Guwor for convening the leadership series, noting that the interaction between serving and past lawmakers would strengthen legislative growth and deepen democratic culture in Delta State.
“The initiative of bringing together generations of legislators is commendable,” Izeze said. “It promotes peace, progress, and prosperity in our state. The collective endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori shows that their leadership is felt and appreciated.”
The Works Commissioner added that Oborevwori’s development strides across the state, particularly in infrastructure expansion and urban renewal, have justified the confidence reposed in him.
The session marked a new tradition of legislative reflection, mentorship and consensus-building, with participants expressing optimism for a more united and forward-looking Delta State.
