We Will Activate the Entire Tennis Ecosystem, Ochei Assures as Newly Elected NTF President ~ Truth Reporters

The newly elected President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. Engr. Victor Onyekachi Ochei, Esq., has pledged to activate the entire tennis ecosystem across the country, promising an inclusive and revitalized administration for the sport.

 

Ochei, who polled 11 votes to emerge victorious at the election held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, assured that no constituency within the Federation would be left behind.

 

The former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and renowned sports philanthropist made the declaration in his post-election remarks, where he vowed to bring every aspect of the NTF to its optimal level of performance.

 

Outlining his vision for restructuring and revitalizing the Federation, Ochei stated:

 

“We intend to dismantle the existing structure, repackage it, and ensure seamless operations across every organ of the Federation. When we bring in the right influence, sponsorships, and funding, and create career paths for players and coaches, you will begin to see the difference. The changes will be visible in the short term.”

 

Expressing deep gratitude to his supporters and stakeholders for their trust and commitment throughout the election process, Ochei described the outcome as a collective victory.

 

“We all campaigned and we all won together,” he said. “There is no victor or vanquished. We are coming together to work for tennis with the sole aim of uplifting the sport in Nigeria and making it one of the most respected disciplines in the country.”

 

He emphasized that while the electoral process was significant, the real challenge lies in driving meaningful development within the sport. He assured that he and other elected officials would immediately get to work to achieve tangible results within a short period.

 

With Ochei’s emergence as NTF President, stakeholders are optimistic that the Federation will witness renewed energy, improved organization, and a stronger pathway for both professional and grassroots tennis development in Nigeria.
