The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Women Development/Empowerment, Rt Hon Josephine Oduaran, has applauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over the recent empowerment of 10,000 widows across the State
The SSA , who is also the Ughelli south coordinator , said the empowerment programme for the widows was timely , describing the Governor as "a man who saw tomorrow"
Oduaran, a one time Chairman of Ughelli south as well as Leader of the Legislative Arm, while speaking with journalists at the Dome Event centre , Asaba, venue of the widows empowerment programme, said the selection process was very transparent across the state , with 30 widows per ward selected and non-indigenes also given consideration
She added that with the inclusion of free health care for the widows into the package, Governor Oborevwori had once again demonstrated his unwavering passion for the welfare of the widows and vulnerable in Delta State
The SSA on Women Development and Empowerment , said this act of empathy for the widows in Delta by Governor Oborevwori is in line with his MORE Agenda , especially now that it aligns with the Renewed hope initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Rt Hon Oduaran also scored Oborevwori high in the governance of the state , alluding to the massive infrastructural drive of the Governor across the three Senatorial districts of the state.
She made particular reference to the ongoing multi-million naira mega flyover projects around the Effurun and Warri metropolis, noting that though the construction was slowing down the movement of motorists and pedestrians alike, like a woman in labour, the completion of the projects will bring great joy and relief to the people of Delta who will play the projects
The SSA therefore appealed to Deltans to continued to support Governor Oborevwori,s administration , as he continues to deliver more dividends of democracy across the state, adding that the Governor,s second term in office from 2027 is a done deal
