Akpimegi Doles Out N2.4m to 120 Women in Ododegho Community ~ Truth Reporters
President-General of the Ughelli Descendants Union (UDU), Olorogun Samuel Akpimegi (JP), in a heartwarming show of generosity, has donated N2,400,000 to the Ododegho Community Council of Women during a well-attended event at the Obomero Ododegho Community Town Hall.
The occasion drew members of the community, dignitaries, and youth leaders to witness yet another philanthropic gesture from the respected community leader and philanthropist.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Israel Oghuwvu, President of Ododegho Community, praised Chief Akpimegi popularly known as the Abadi of Ughelli Great Kingdom, for his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.
He outlined several of Akpimegi’s contributions to the community, including the provision of free education to students, free enrollment of primary and secondary school pupils, skills acquisition programmes for male and female youths, and the sponsorship of over 100 university students.
In his address, Chief Samuel Akpimegi (JP) credited his philanthropic values to his father, Chief Major P.A. Egone (Rtd), the Ogbofovwi of Ughelli Great Kingdom.
He expressed gratitude to the community leadership for its developmental efforts and called on the women to continue praying for peace, unity, and prosperity for all sons and daughters of the land, both at home and abroad.
On behalf of the Women’s Council, Mrs. Anna Obire led prayers for Chief Akpimegi, asking God to continue to strengthen and protect him and his family from all evil.
The event was graced by several notable personalities, including Chief Major P.A. Egone (Rtd), Chief Friday Omovie, Chief John Regha, Mr. Ejovi Egone, Mr. Israel Onojuviede, Comrade Lucky Ediagnonrume (Youth Chairman, Ododegho Community), Comrade Israel Oghuwvu (President, Ododegho Community), among others.
