Upcoming Two Years in Office: "Oborevwori Has Left Bold Footprints Thus Far," Affirms Aniagwu ~ Truth Reporters

As Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration prepares to mark its second anniversary in office on May 29, 2025, it has made remarkable strides—particularly in rural infrastructure and public service delivery.

 

One notable achievement is the revitalization of the Ayakoromo Bridge project, aimed at connecting several riverine and coastal communities along its extensive corridor in the Bomadi axis of the state. This is in addition to various developmental projects reaching previously underserved regions.

 

Commissioner for Works (Rural and Riverine) and Public Communications, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, while briefing journalists ahead of the anniversary, stated that significant progress has been made in ensuring all three senatorial districts feel included in the democratic dividends. This aligns with the "MORE Agenda" and the administration’s “Renewed Hope” mantra.

 

Joined by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, Aniagwu highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to inclusivity and equitable development. He emphasized the Governor’s dedication to implementing impactful projects that provide a sense of belonging to communities across the state.

 

Mr. Aniagwu referenced major infrastructure achievements such as the Trans-Warri-Ode-Itsekiri Road and ancillary bridges, as well as the Asaba-Ughelli Road project, which has significantly reduced travel time. He also mentioned a wide range of ongoing projects designed to enhance road connectivity across the state.

 

In addition to infrastructure, the Commissioner noted the success of empowerment initiatives like the D-CARES programme, which has positively impacted over 250,000 Deltans. These efforts, he said, reflect Governor Oborevwori’s inclusive vision for Delta State.

 

Looking ahead to the second anniversary celebrations, Aniagwu listed several projects scheduled for commissioning, including the Beneku Bridge, Ewulu-Isheagu Road and Bridge, and the Igbide-Emede roads, among many others. He noted that some completed projects would be quietly inaugurated without elaborate ceremonies due to the sheer volume of initiatives.

 

On the issue of national insecurity, Aniagwu asserted that Delta State remains one of the safest in the country. He attributed this to the proactive stance of security agencies and the government’s firm resolve to enact and implement legislation aimed at further strengthening security across the state.
