RHI: Oborevwori lauds Remi Tinubu, on support for midwives ~ Truth Reporters

Delta State Governor , Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has commended the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her outstanding support for stakeholders in the health sector.

The Governor also commended the First Lady over her advocacy for free treatment for HIV/ AIDS patients in the country.

Governor Oborevwori gave the commendations on Tuesday 25th March 2025 , at the Events Centre , Asaba, venue of the First Lady,s presentation of 10,000 professional kits ( scrocs and scrubs), to midwives in the South South region, as part of the Health programme of her Renewed Hope initiative.

The Governor stated that it is heart warming, that Nigeria,s First Lady , Senator Oluremi Tinubu, had identified the critical mass of Midwives, as veritable partners in the health sector.

Governor Oborevwori said that midwives play a vital role in public health, particularly in maternal child health, by administering treatments, promoting healthy living, assisting pregnant women, and delivering public health messages, all of which result in improved health outcomes, for women and children.

Governor Oborevwori said the first Lady,s initiative is consistent with her character as a mother and compassionate apostle of the downtrodden in the society.

The Governor stated that the presentation of the 10,000 professional kits made up of scrocs and scrubs to midwives in the South South region of the country , will go a long way to boost the morale , and enhance their productivity , and boost professional fulfillment.

In her remarks , the wife of the President and Founder of Renewed Hope initiative ( RHI) Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, said the presentation of professional kits to midwives is a nationwide initiative ,of which Delta State is the host of the South South presentation of scrocs and scrubs.

The First Lady who recalled her visit to Delta state seven months ago on an empowerment programme for widows , stated that the Renewed Hope initiative is targeted at reducing the burden of lack on women and the indigent in society.

Describing the gesture of the RHI as non political, Senator Oluremi lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for their steadfastness in supporting the programmes of RHI in order to expand the scope of beneficiaries.

Highpoint of the event which was spiced by spectacular presentation of the State Arts and Culture troupe , and attended by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly , Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, members of the state house of assembly and executive council, wives of Governors of the south South region and spouses of local government Chairmen as well as top management of the Federal ministry of health and National Primary Health Care Development Agency , among others , was the formal presentation of the items to the National Primary Health Care top brass for onward presentation to the midwives from the region under the supervision of Delta first Lady , Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, and her co first ladies from the south South region
