Delta Poly Ogwashi-Uku, matriculates 3,960 students for 2024/2025 academic session ~ Truth Reporters

A total of 3,960 students, comprising 1,96O National Diploma ( ND), and 2,000 Higher National Diploma ( HND), have been normally admitted into the Delta State Polytechnic , Ogwashi Uku , Aniocha South Local government area, for the 2024/2025 Academic session.

The matriculation ceremony, the 23rd in the series, drew an overwhelming crowd to the Event centre of DSPG, venue of the ceremony.

In his opening speech before formally admitting the students in line with the powers conferred on him , the Rector , Builder Professor Emmanuel Achuenu, said the matriculation ceremony marks the beginning of an academic era for the matriculants , who are expected to draw up a blue print on how to achieve their academic goals.

The DSPG Rector , while going down memory lane, said it is exciting to note that the polytechnic , which at inception in 2003, started operating from a temporary site ( DPPS) with 200 students, has metamorphosed into a full blown Polytechnic with 7 Schools and 42 departments and 74 accredited programmes by the National Board For Technical Education ( NABTEB), and has recorded tremendous achievements and growth , academic excellence and also in science exhibitions .

Bldr Prof Achuenu who assured the students of the institution that adequate arrangements have been provided for life on campus , revealed that the institution is working harmoniously with law enforcement agencies in Ogwashi Uku metropolis, and the state at large.

He charged the matriculating students to ensure they maintain the culture of discipline and good conduct, ingredients which are germane to learning . Thus , he urged them to obey all rules and regulations of the Polytechnic , while assuring Parents , guardians , and other stakeholders of DSPG that management was fully prepared to raise leaders of tomorrow who would be well equipped to deal with emerging trends of the 21st century digital age.

Highpoint of the 23rd matriculation ceremony of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi Uku, was the subscribing to the relevant oaths by the matriculants under the guidance of Acting Registrar, Mrs Christy Edoge.

The 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony was attended by the Deputy Registrar , Dr Mrs Joy Anho, Dean's of the various schools , Heads of departments , senior lecturers and the Students union body led by the SUG President ,  Comrade Eruru Christian.
