Funkekeme mourns Tony Otokhine, condoles wife ~ Truth Reporters

Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon, the Senior Political Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has expressed shock and absolute incredulity over the sudden death of Mr Tony Otokhine which occurred on Sunday 15th of May 2022.

Until his death, Mr Tony Otokhine was a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters attached to the office of the Senior Political Adviser.

In a condolence visit to the bereaved wife, Mrs Promise Otokhine, Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon described the news of the death of Mr Tony Otokhine as a rude shock to him.

"We were together on Friday, then on Saturday thereafter he told me he was going to Benin for a wedding and I to Abuja for a meeting, only to be told on Sunday that he has died! That tells you the futility of the struggle of man.

"In the few years that I have known him, he has transformed greatly. A benevolent and friendly personage, he has demonstrated exemplary steadfastness and rare characteristics of a dependable personality" he said.

Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon noted that the late Tony Otokhine was young and boisterous with a beautiful family and that it is the expectation he will live long for his family but that It is The Lord that determines the end and the beginning.

He commended her calm disposition and appealed to her to show such maturity in the care and upbringing of the children.

Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon said "On behalf of the office and staff of the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, I want to condole you and the children on the death of your husband and to assure you that we'll be there for you."

Thereafter he prayed for the repose of the soul of Mr Tony Otokhine. He also prayed for the blessings and protection of the Lord upon the family he left behind and that the Lord grant them the strength to bear the loss.
