I was invited not arrested by NPF - Isoko North Council boss ~ Truth Reporters

The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon Christian Iteire has clarified the misrepresentation by social media mischief makers that he was arrest by the Nigeria Police Force, NPF in Benin City, Edo State on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Iteire stated that, "contrary to speculations making  round by some online media outfits known for unverified news, I was honourably invited not arrested by the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday".

Iteire made the clarification in a press release on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Ozoro, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ajiri-Oghene Oreh, that "as a law abiding citizen of Nigeria, I only honoured an invitation at the Zone 5 Office of the Assistant Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Force in Benin City sequel to a petition brought to them against the Council".

The Isoko-North Council Boss further stated that, "I personally drove down to the force headquarters to give clarification on the thorny issues in the petition of which my explanation was satisfactory to the Police, and I returned to work at Ozoro same Thursday".

Iteire therefore called on members of the public to disregard attempts by disgruntled elements to discredit the untiring efforts of his administration in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

The Isoko North Council chairman assured that he would not join issues with his detractors but called on the law enforcement agencies to fish out and prosecute the enemies of democracy in the Local Government Area.
