CUPP backs Okowa over Exco dissolution, autonomy for judiciary ~ Truth Reporters

 

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) in Delta State has commended Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for the bold step taken for the dissolution of the State Executive Council to allow for the infusion of fresh blood into the governance of the state.

The umbrella body of registered political parties, at a press conference on Friday in Asaba, extolled the Governor’s courage to guard against distraction in the remaining two years of his administration, stressing that this critical time in the life of the state demanded absolute loyalty, commitment and faithfulness to the Stronger Delta vision of the Governor by his aides. 

CUPP Delta chapter urged the Governor to sustain his all – inclusive government in reconstituting his cabinet in order to bring in more members of the opposition parties to the system for cohesion, inter–party harmony and stability. 

It reminded Okowa that some individuals might want to use the dissolution of the Exco to ignite disaffection in the state, urging him to remain focused and resolute as the decision was in the best interest of the state. 

The body also hailed Okowa for granting full autonomy for the State Judiciary, noting that the measure would enhance the dispensation of justice in the state. 

In a communique read by the State Spokesperson of the group, Prince Henry Eze, CUPP passed a Vote of Confidence on the Governor for the expansive infrastructural development strides of his administration, adding that the human capital development policy of the state government had positively affected the lives of mostly youths and women in the state. 

While pledging continued support for the Governor, CUPP expressed the believe that the next Governor of the state would be able to carry everyone along to guarantee equity, fairness and justice which had been the guiding principles of the Okowa administration.
