Agediga Commiserates With Okowa Over Death Of Father ~ Truth Reporters

Executive Director (ED), Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Dr. Amb. Shedrack Agediga has sent a condolence message to His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State over demise of his father. 


Dr. Shedrack Agediga who doubles as the founder and chairman of the Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF) sympathized with Governor Okowa whom he described as his political boss via a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri yesterday, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers. 


The highly related Niger Delta philanthropist, global advocate of peace  and politician described the death of the patriarch as a great loss to the entire  people of Delta State, stressing that he was shocked to hear the news of the demise of late Chief Arthur Uzoma Okowa in the early hours of January 28.


“As a father to many other than his biological children, Sir Arthur Okorie Uzoma Okowa meant a lot to the people of Owa Alero in Ika North East Local Government where he was born in 1932.


“Popularly called ‘AOU’ by all, Sir Okowa, the Okpara-Uku of Owa-Alero, remained close to his place of birth and inspired many towards achieving true greatness.


“I commiserate with the family of our dear Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the good people of Owa-Alero over the transition of this great man to eternal realms.


“May God Almighty grant his soul eternal rest and grant all he left behind, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.


"I’m deeply saddened by the death of the our father, the father of our amiable Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. Accept my sympathy and condolences for the Okowa's family. May his soul find eternal rest. I also pray for God's protection on the  immediate and extended family. Once again, my condolences." 


Meanwhile, Governor Okowa had on Thursday, January 28, announced the loss of his father through his Facebook page.


According to the statement "my family and I regret to announce the death of our beloved father, Sir Arthur Okorie Okowa, who passed away earlier this morning. 


He said throughout his lifetime, "my father embodied and spread the principles of service to humanity, kindness even in the face of adversity, and trusting in Almighty God. 


"As we celebrate the life of my late father, I thank God for the 88 wonderful years that my family and I spent with him — and the impact that God allowed him to have on everyone that he came in contact with.


"We will miss him dearly. With love and light, Papa, rest in peace."
