Egbabor distributes food items to flood affected communities ~ Truth Reporters

 







The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor on Monday flagged off the distribution of food items to communities affected by the recent flood which ravaged some communities in the council area. 


The communities and villages affected are Okpe-Isoko, Ige, Itebige, Aziaro, Ofagbe, Oyede, Bethel, Okrama and Ovrode. 





The foods items which were provided by the State Government to flood prone local governments in the state is to help cushion the effect of devastating flood on the affected communities which rendered many families homeless. 





Speaking during the flag-off ceremony at the Council Secretariat, Egbabor commended the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the gesture, adding that the food items would go a long way in putting food on the tables of the affected families. 


He said the officials of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has carried assessment of the level of destruction of the flooded communities. 




The food items distributed include 60 bags of rice, 60 bags of beans, 50 bags of garri, 200 tubers of yam, 100 cartons of noodles, 20 gallons of 25 liters of groundnut oil, 20 gallons of 25 litres of palmoil and 40 bags of salt. 


While handing over the food items to the President-Generals of Ofagbe, Oyede, Ovrode and Okpe-Isoko, Hon Egbabor appealed to them to make sure the items are distributed at the various communities to the affected persons in order to achieve the desired goals.  


Okpe-Isoko received 25bags of rice, 25 bags of beans, 20 bags of garri, 77 tubers of yam, 35 cartons of noodles, 8kegs ground nut oil, 8kegs of palm oil, 13 bags of salt" and they are to be shared to people that are affected by the flood in the listed communities. 


Ofagbe went home with- 15bags of rice, 15 bags of beans, 10 bags of garri 40 tubers of yam, 25cartons of noodles, 4kegs ground nut oil, 4kegs of palm oil, 9bags of salt. 


Oyede- 10bags of rice, 10 bags of beans, 10 bags of garri 40 tubers of yam, 20cartons of noodles, 4kegs ground nut oil, 4kegs  of palm oil, 9bags of salt. 


While Ovrode-10bags of rice, 10 bags of beans, 10 bags of garri 40 tubers of yam, 20cartons of noodles, 4kegs ground nut oil, 4kegs  of palm oil, 9bags of salt." 


Receiving the foods items on behalf of the flooded communities, the President of Okpe-Isoko, Dr Aloy Okpelogbo and Mr Famous Aki, President General of Ofagbe commended the State Governor,  Senator Ifeanyi Okowa over the food items and the Local government Council Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor for his transparency in sharing the food items in a manner that was satisfactory to the people. 


They promised to ensure that the food items would be given to the beneficiaries in their various communities.


Councillors from the respective wards were also in attendance.
