Dying Fishes: Delta seeks support for host communities ~ Truth Reporters
Local and international oil companies operating in Delta have been called upon to support the efforts of government towards providing relief materials to the people affected by the incessant cases of dying fishes along the shore lines of Forcados and Escravos areas.
The State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emman Amgbaduba made the call yesterday in Warri while monitoring the distribution of relief materials donated by the state government to the affected communities.
He appealed to oil companies and host communities to see themselves as partners in progress as such peaceful coexistence is inevitable.
While appreciating the affected communities, Amgbaduba commended the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for providing relief materials to the people as he appealed to other corporate bodies for support.
The relief materials were distributed to wards following the motion as moved by Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the member representing Warri South West, Delta State House of Assembly.
