Fix Eku-Abraka-Obiaruku-Agbor road, group appeals to Okowa~ Truth Reporters

The Coalition for Good Governance has appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta to come to the aid of motorists who daily ply Eku-Abraka-Obiaruku-Agbor road.

Rising from a crucial meeting on Thursday, the Group in a communique signed by the Chairman Comrade Jefferson Oruoghorie decried the deplorable condition of the road and called on the State Government to as a matter of urgent public importance embark on palliative works on the road to save commuters the daily hassles they go through on the road.

According to the communique:"We at the Coalition for Good Governance Delta State will love to call on the attention of His Excellency,Sen. Dr IFEANYI OKOWA in respect to the nature of the aforementioned roads in Delta State.

"There is no doubts that your fingerprint of development and smart initiatives of your administration is seen all over the state.The prosperity for all Deltans is an affirmation of your giant strides to ensure that development and dividends of democracy is delivered to the grassroots.

"Be as it may, your unwavering disposition as Governor of the state for the empowerment of youths,through your skill acquisition programmes,including your Agricultural development to raise entrepreneurs and be self sufficient, are nothing but true example of your smart agenda for all Deltans, we may not be able to mention all, but will not also be in a hurry to forget massive roads infrastructural project you have executed across all towns in Delta State.For those whom have travelled across the State will attest to your road construction initiatives; internal roads across the state is a legacy to leave.

"Noting and agreeing to the fact that these roads in question are all federal roads, is a strong reason why this communique is raised.

"Your Excellency sir,we know you've done alot in respect to state roads across the three senatorial zones but this aforementioned roads are very vital roads Deltans ply on daily basis,in order to transport their goods from one place to another.

"We at The COALITION For Good GOVERNANCE, Delta State plead that you extend a palliative measure to this roads,to ease easy flow of goods and services across and within the State.

"Please your Excellency sir, as the August break is in play, we solicit for your immediate response to the cries of Deltans who make use of this roads. Whatever it will take you to react and make Deltans in that area happy will be appreciated.

"Our Dear Governor, you have always been a listening Governor who have the mind of Deltans in your heart.You have not failed Deltans and we know you will not fail us.Delivering dividends of democracy is one critical objectives of Good GOVERNANCE. We know you are Good Governance PERSONIFIED.

"Furthermore,we understand the times we are now,the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic has distorted fiscal provisioning, we know as a Governor you have faced had times to see all sectors of the economy are well managed due to the scarce resources that has strucked the state because of the pandemic.It is therefore our plea on behalf of Deltans to use your good office to put smiles in the faces of your people of Delta state ,particularly the People around Agbor, Obiaruku, Abraka axis who are directly affected by the dilapidated nature of the road.

"Thanks for listening to the cries of Deltans anytime we call on you sir." he stated.
