BREAKING: DSS denies arresting Magu ~ Truth Reporters

The Department of State Services (DSS) have denied arresting the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.

The secret police in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya said the Service havd been inundated with enquiries over the alleged arrest.

Afunanya did not give any further details whether Magu was invited but denied arresting him as reported by the media on Monday.

The statement reads: "The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to inform the public that it did not arrest Ibrahim MAGU, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as has been reported by sections of the media.

"The Service, has since, today, 6th July, 2020, been inundated with enquiries over the alleged arrest," Afunanya stated.

Magu has been in the eye of the storm since Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami wrote a memo to President Muhammadu Buhari demanding removal of the EFCC boss over acts of insubordination and diversion of recovered lots.
