COVID-19: Obiodeh tasks residents on safety regulations as Isoko South records 2nd case ~ Truth Reporters




The Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta on Political Matters, Chief Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh has charged residents of Isoko South Local Government Area to adhere strictly to safety measures, as the local government records another case of COVID-19.

Chief Obiodeh who expressed concerns over the persistent rise of COVID-19 cases in Delta, urged Isoko people to join hands with Government in the fight against the spread of the virus in the State.

In a telephone conversation with newsmen on Thursday, 4th June 2020, Chief Obiodeh who was a former Leader of the Isoko South Legislative Arm stated that, “COVID-19 is highly infectious and there is no cure for now. Our Governor and the Local Government Chairman have worked so hard to contain the spread of the virus, and we must therefore join hands with them to achieve the desired target by observing social distancing and continuous use of personal protective equipments such as face masks.

“Coronavirus does not respect social status, religion or nationality; the best way to prevent the rapid spread is to report any suspected case around our vicinity to the appropriate authority. If you see someone with chronic cough, or high temperature, quickly inform the local Government authority. Coronavirus does not show on the face, hence, these precautions."

He further charged residents of the Local Government that washing of hands with water and soap at all times and avoiding crowded environment are important at this period, and that the use of hand sanitisers should also be maintained.

He advised those living in the rural areas to see the consumption of fruits and vegetables as a very healthy practice which has proved to contain immune-boosting nutrients.
