Bad Road: Succour for Steve Eboka residents as Okowa's aide provides palliatives ~ Truth Reporters

While many individuals are scouting for what government can do for them, an exceptional appointee of the Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration, Comrade Garvin Iduh, has provided succor to residence of Steve Eboka street, off Km 14 Asaba - Ibusa Expressway Asaba, Delta State, by grading and sandfilling the road.

Iduh who was recently appointed by the Governor as Special Assistant on Youth Developments, took residents of the area by surprise when he rolled out giant payloader, excavators and other heavy duty equipments to repair the road which was in a deplorable state, said the move was his own way of giving back to the society what he owed her.

"First let me say I never wanted to make this a media issue, but as you journalists are already here, I think it will be discourteous to not to talk. This project is my own way of giving back to the society. I live in this neighborhood and I feel so strongly that we must not leave everything for government. What I am doing here is to deplore my personal resources to grade and sandfill the road so that vehicles can move freely as we celebrate this festivity", he said.

"I am calling on every Deltan who enjoy some level of comfort to see him/herself as the government who has a task to improve the society in one way or the other. Let us not forgo development for government alone", he added.

A resident of the area who gave his name as Mr. Raymond Amaechi, said the people of the neighborhood will continue to pray for Comr. Iduh for coming to their aid.

"I am very happy that an individual can afford to spend his hard-earned money on a project like this. We have severally appealed to the local government to help us grade the road all to no avail. During raining season, this road is always a terrible place to ply. When the rains stopped, we have been praying to God to come to our aid so that we can at least have a temporary relief. As God will have it, a good Nigerian has come to our rescue", he said.

Continuing, "I thank Comr. Iduh for this gesture. I am also calling on the Governor to give men like Iduh higher responsibilities so that they can continue to be good ambassadors of the government and the Okowa brand".

As at the time of filing this report work was still ongoing in the road as residents and passersby continue to rain encomiums on Iduh.
