In a statement signed by the Chairman of HOSCON Traditional Rulers and Elders Advisory Council of Nigeria , HRM King Obukohwo Monday Whiskey , JP, PhD , the Ovie of the great Oil and Gas rich ldjerhe kingdom in Ethiope West LGA, commuters and motorists alike are being locked in gridlocks for no just reason for longer hours and sometimes days on the collapsed roads , most times at the mercy of kidnappers and armed robbers , who have latched in on the failed roads , to launch attacks on stranded road users.
The HOSCON Traditional Rulers and Elders Advisory Council Chairman lamented that "today , you can hardly travel from Warri to Benin or Benin to Calabar or any part of the South South region in record time, as virtually all the federal roads in the region have collapsed".

Insecurity has increased tremendously. Our people have lost so much means of livelihood because they can't move freely on the roads. This is an emergency that should be tackled without further delay".
He therefore urged the Federal Government to urgently take steps in this direction , as well as fashion out a consistent maintenance regime for existing toads across the country to avoid this yearly embarrassing situation, instead of running from pillar to post every rainy season to address road challenges.
